Soil Testing
Soil testing is a crucial practice that involves the rapid chemical analysis of soil to determine its nutrient status and pH level. It helps in assessing soil pH, Buffer pH, Soil Organic Matter, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) estimated nitrogen release (ENR), sodium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, boron, zinc, manganese, iron, copper, & base saturation, which is essential for making informed decisions regarding fertilizer applications and land management. Core samples will be taken from a depth of 4-6" inches from at least 10 locations around your residence, then packaged and sent to the lab for analysis.

This process typically includes:

Sampling: Soil samples are taken at a uniform depth and in a random pattern to ensure that the results accurately represent the area.
Analysis: The collected samples are dried and examined using advanced technology to create a detailed chemical profile of the soil, showing both the amount and accessibility of nutrients needed for healthy turf development.
Interpretation: The results are then interpreted to provide practical recommendations for fertilizer use & other management practices.

Fungicide Treatments
In Illinois, lawn fungus may manifest as brown patches, yellow speckling, or powdery coatings. These issues are frequently caused by fungi that prosper in moist environments, which can result from overwatering or inadequate drainage. To prevent and manage lawn fungus, homeowners are advised to improve soil conditions, control moisture levels, and adhere to proper lawn care practices. Regular monitoring and early intervention are essential for managing and minimizing the effects of lawn fungus on Illinois lawns.
For more persistent lawn diseases, fungicide applications may be necessary. Certain diseases could require curative fungicide treatments to protect unaffected grass, and multiple applications might be needed for effective results. While fungicides will not reverse existing damage, enhancing root growth conditions and reducing thatch are crucial steps. Recommended practices include core aeration, topdressing, appropriate fertilization, correct mowing height (avoid mowing too low), and light, frequent watering. Prompt and comprehensive management strategies can effectively address lawn disease outbreaks.

Pest Managment (Grubs & Bugs)
Pest management involves properly identifying the insects causing issues to your plants or lawn. Upon identification a treatment plan can be put into action of prevention, monitoring or using biological or chemical pesticides to alleviate the problem. Remember that healthy and vigorously growing plants and lawns can tolerate a higher degree of pest pressure. So keep your plants and lawns healthy with proper fertilization, aeration and water.

Soil Conditioner
*Stimulating root development, it protects turf & plants against environmental and cultural stressors while maximizing water and nutrient uptake.
*Highly soluble chelated iron (EDTA iron) is easily absorbed by the plant, providing a consistently lush appearance for turf and plants.
*By conditioning the soil, it optimizes soil pH, CEC, salinity and accelerates seed germination to ensure that roots take hold quickly and securely.
*The formula nearly doubles the absorption of key micronutrients, improving the efficiency and utilization of nutrients applied.
*Bio-charged carbon holds water while making it available to the plant when needed, allowing your soil to get more from every drop.
*Powered by MobilEX™, delivers nutrients throughout the entire plant and transports them to areas where they’re needed most.

Core Aeration
Aeration is the process of removing small cores of soil & grass roots from the lawn. Over time a healthy stand of grass produces a thick layer of roots beneath the soil surface. This abundant root system can hinder rain & irrigation from passing deep into the soil & reaching the root system that supports the lawns health during times of drought. A thick layer of roots & soil becomes compacted over time due to traffic, mowing & natural settling. Aeration reduces compaction, allows moisture, air & nutrients to penetrate the surface resulting in an improvement of lawn vitality. The soil cores are left with in the lawn area to breakdown naturally overtime.
Aerate your lawn. Since Dollar Spot often occurs on thatched, drought-stressed lawns, lawn aeration can be an effective way to control thatch in your lawn.

Benefits:
*Increased penetration of water, air & nutrients into the soil
*Loosening the soil encourages root growth
*Degrades thatch (will not solve extremely severe thatch buildup. However, aeration when done annually will help maintain the overall health & vigor of your lawn).

Over-Seeding
Overseeding is an important part of growing a healthy, lush lawn. Overseeding revives damaged lawns caused by a lack of water, heavy foot traffic and heat stress to name a few. Overseeding not only allows grass to grow where it doesn’t exist, but it also improves the entire stand of grass by sowing better varieties. The process of overseeding involves planting grass seed directly into the existing lawn without ruining the lawn or soil. If you don’t overseed, you run the risk of weeds overtaking your lawn.

Lawn Winterizer Fertilization
Winter Organic Based fertilizer, also known as winterizer, is a type of lawn fertilizer applied in late fall to prepare the turf for the winter season ahead. It helps the grass store nutrients and boosts root strength, ensuring a healthier lawn during the cold months and a faster green up in the spring. Winter fertilizers are different from fall lawn treatments, which are applied before winter and encourage root growth. They are essential for maintaining a healthy lawn during the dormant period and are applied just after the grass stops growing but while it is still active in the root system.

*Root Strengthening: Winterizer fertilizers help strengthen the root system of your grass, preparing it to withstand cold temperatures and promoting healthier growth in the spring
*Nutrient Storage: Applying fertilizer in the fall allows the grass to store essential nutrients over the winter, leading to a more robust lawn when spring arrives
LAWN MAINTENANCE

Whether it's preparing your lawn & beds for spring by clearing winter debris, edging beds, mowing the lawn weekly, trimming the shrubs, pruning the trees, edging the walks, weeding the beds & recycling leaf debris back into the lawn as organic matter & a final yard clean up before winter.
